This past Saturday was a special day for me. I participated in my very first Lupus Walk, and it was an experience I’m grateful I got to be part of.

The weather was beautiful, my family walked alongside me, and I even had the chance to see some familiar faces. Those little moments made the day even more meaningful. There is something special about being surrounded by people who support you, share in your journey, and remind you that you are not walking alone.

And yes, we walked a mile! 💜

It might have been just one mile to some people, but for me, it represented so much more. Living with lupus has added a new perspective to my life. It has reminded me to listen to my body, appreciate the good days, give myself grace on the harder days, and recognize that taking care of myself is just as important as taking care of everyone else.

This walk was my first, but I hope it will not be my last. Being part of a community that brings awareness to lupus and supports those affected by it made the experience even more special. Every person has a story, and sometimes simply showing up is a powerful way to let someone know they are not alone.

I was especially thankful to have my family there with me. Having them walk beside me made the day feel even more personal. Life gets busy, and we don’t always stop to appreciate the moments that remind us what matters most. Saturday was one of those moments for me.

As I continue navigating this journey, I want to keep raising awareness, sharing my experiences, and encouraging others to learn more about lupus. You never know what someone is dealing with behind the scenes, and a little understanding and compassion can go a long way.

To everyone who supported the walk, participated, donated, or continues to advocate for the lupus community, thank you. Every step and every effort matters.

This was my first Lupus Walk, but it was another step forward in my journey.
