It’s a new year, and for most, a new year means a new beginning. This is the time of year when people set goals to be accomplished. People do many different things to get their goals set in place for the New Year. One of the current popular things to do for setting goals is making vision boards. Those can be motivating because you leave it out to look at everyday so that you are reminded that you have goals in place to be accomplished. An easy way to successfully complete your goals is to set monthly goals for yourself. For example, if your have a New Year resolution to lose weight set monthly goals for weight loss. If you want to lose 50 lbs. by the summer, then set a goal to lose 10 lbs. a month.
Monthly goals can be beneficial and make accomplishing your goals easier and more realistic. It allows you to have your goals set at a more comfortable pace. Benefits to creating monthly goals are:

- They minimize procrastination
- They prepare you to stay on track during long term goals
It’s ok to start small. Set your goals and stick to them, you will go a long way. Gradually increase your goal times. Not all goals are accomplished, but that does not mean you have to give up, keep going!
