Let’s Eat!!! Day 1

Day 1: Tandoori Chicken in Tikka Masala with Homemade Naan Bread

Alright, so I made it through my first recipe from Nashville Top Chefs. It started out rough, because, like I said in my previous post, I’m no chef. I did have to go to the grocery store and pick up a few things. I had got plain yogurt, plain greek yogurt, eggs, lemon juice, and a few different seasonings. My family helped out a bit, I had my husband dicing onions, garlic and ginger, while my daughter and I got the chicken together (teamwork makes the dream work). At first, it really did seem like a lot but as I started getting stuff in its proper place it all just fell together. I have some pics of the process I’ll share below.

Making the Tandoori Chicken in Tikka Masala and the rice was a breeze. Then there was the homemade Naan Bread, I have never in my life made homemade bread, I just haven’t and this was the part that tested me. I realized, I need to invest in a rolling pin and also that flour is your friend. I didn’t get it really good until I got to like my last two pieces, but I got it. Cooking the bread was easy but separating and spreading was a sticky mess until I realized that could’ve been prevented with the flour. What can I say, I’m learning here.

All in all the final dish was GREAT!!! I can say I was nervous about putting greek yogurt in my chicken but I couldn’t even taste it. I said who knew this would taste sooooooooooo good. The bread was really good too, I had the option of adding garlic but the garlic did not make it because I was hungry. It was still all so good though. It honestly was not as hard as I thought it would be. I can’t wait until tomorrows dish.

Here’s some pics of the process as well as the end result:
